Offensive takeaway

  • As usual, attacking linemen Orlando Brown Jr., Joe Thony, Creed Humphrey, Trey Smith and Andrew Wiley all started on the offensive picks. Nick Allegretti came as the Sixth Factor in two games.
  • The chiefs continued to run their backs as a group. None of them had the majority of the shots. Gerek McKinnon was far more preferred in passing plays than Clyde Edwards Heller. Without much progress in the last quarter, Isiah Pacheco’s usage fell below 10%.
  • It figured in narrow end use, too. Tight end Travis Kelce is back to his usual use: about 90% of the shots, while Jody Fortson’s representatives were also about 10%.
  • The team clearly sees wide receivers Marquis Valdes-Scantling and JoJo Smith-Schuster as key players in the group, followed by Mikol Hardman and Justin Watson. Rookie Skyy Moore only had two offensive photos.
  • In the first week, Kansas City emphasized playing a little more plays than we usually see. But in this game, they’re back to a more familiar percentage: 67% succeeded and 33% ran.

defensive meals

  • With a competitive game until the end, we saw what we usually see: Larius Snead, Rashad Fenton, Justin Reed and Juan Thornhill were at nearly every defensive moment. Jaylen Watson was the fifth corner kick for 68% of the shots. Just as in the first week, there were only a few plays with a third safe; Bryan Cook and Deon Bush combined for about 10% of the shots.
  • Nick Bolton and Willie Jay Jr. were in over 90% of defensive shots, while Leo Chenal had 30%—mostly against the race—and Darius Harris 4%. Elijah Lee played exclusively in special teams. So it appears that Kansas City tends to align 4-2-5 as its true primary defense.
  • Rookie defensive end George Karlavtis and defensive tackle Chris Jones once again led the defense in shots. The numbers suggest that overall, Carlos Dunlap is the Karlavtes replacement, while Kalin Saunders comes for Jones on sprints. But as always, defensive coordinator Steve Spagnolo’s constant shifts on the goal line keep us – and fouls off – guesswork.
  • In this way, Focus on professional football Reports That against the chargers, Jones continued to line up on the ledge for some shots. On Thursday, it was about one in five plays. This is significantly less than the outdoor use we saw prior to the 2021 EDGE trial; These days, Spagnuolo especially Keep Jones at home. But my defensive back Tershawn Wharton is starting to see huge benefit from the outside. PFF Says That in about one in three shots on Thursday, Wharton was on edge.

Editor’s note: Arrowhead Pride gets surprise number data from the NFL game stats and information system, which allows us to sort the number of surprises by running or passing offensive and defensive plays. Because GSIS data ignores sanctioned plays, the total offensive and defensive shots are different from other sources, which get their data from NFL Gamebooks
