Don’t overreact to Rudy Gobert’s performance at the EuroBasket

Finally we have some Rudy Gobert Movie after the big trade. The only downside? It’s who he played at EuroBasket 2022 and not the Minnesota Timberwolves jersey. It also brought a lot of attention to his style. Gobert is still a hot topic in the NBA world after Tim Connelly has given up on multiple players and picks him.

At Eurobasket, Rudy was playing alongside current NBA players Evan Fournier (New York Knicks), Theo Malidon (Oklahoma City Thunder), and Timothy Luau Caparrot (Atlanta Hawks). He also played the role of players who spent time in the NBA Eli Okubo (Phoenix Suns), Vincent Poirier (Philadelphia 76ers), and Gershon Yabusil (Boston Celtics). Joubert represented France, which is ranked fourth in the International Basketball Federation (FIBA).

Joubert received a lot of criticism on Twitter after his subsequent brutal attempt against the former Celtics and Houston Rockets guard Dennis Schroeder. It highlights the conversation about its ability to publish with its large frame effectively.

His accident against Schroeder should not be a concern to the wolves. Rudy has never been a highly used player in the post-follow-up. In theory, he should be able to get buckets easier, like a bouncer mismatch. But the focus of the Minnesota attack shouldn’t be getting the ball rolling no matter what happens in these situations.

Here is how Joubert has done justice to the point per possession (PPP) in subsequent runs during his career:

There is obviously a minimum amount of usage and attempts to pay within this opportunity. I don’t expect that to change with wolves, so don’t worry.

Rudy has averaged 11.3 points, 9.3 rebounds and 0.3 assists in 4 Euroskate games so far. He shoots 53.3% from the field and makes 72.2% of his free throws, to lead France to a record 3-1 so far in second set play. Statistics that match the exemplary national team’s past performance in competitions such as other EuroBasket competitions and the Olympics.

Joubert excelled in his typical strengths, including being a rolled-up and having a low defensive impact.

He can’t take charge as offensively as the players like Luka Doncic And the Giannis Antikonmo done in their national teams. Luca and Giannis can score in isolation and have the ability to keep players away from dribbling. Joubert is an entirely different model. However, we did see more maneuvering from him and a three-point shot. As a result, he placed a respectable 11.3 ppg, third in the France team.

Chris Finch won’t often follow Rudy in Minnesota. Likes Quinn Snyder Use it with the Utah Jazz, we should see a lot of him in the dunker spot and use his ability to sort in and out of the ball, then roll into the basket.

We’ll take a quick look at what Gobert has to offer once he returns to Minneapolis. But there shouldn’t be much to take away from EuroBasket 2022 other than Rudy’s return to form. His success in Minnesota will come down to how effectively the Wolves team up. Can they fix everything in pre-season? Will they benefit from their initial preferred schedule? If they can’t, there is cause for concern.
