Dolphins -3.5 over the Patriots
I wish I had punched this ticket earlier in the week, at -2.5 or -3, and might wait to catch three if I could. But for the purposes of this column, we’re riding at -3.5. The Patriots had a chaotic summer and their crime could be rudderless at the moment, as a combination of Matt Patricia and Joe Judge is to blame. Sure, Bill Belichick is the expert on making chicken salad out of the chicken you know, but it takes time. The best moment to draw Patriots 2022 is now. New England also struggled with the Miami flight for years, even in the franchise’s glory days.
Panthers -1.5 over Brown
forget Baker Mayfield I saw him last year, he was injured. He’s healthy now, and Carolina has hired a notable upgrade over the last two quarterbacks. DJ MoreThe career year is coming up, and I’m here for it. Jacobi Brisset Is a good backup, but would be wrong as a start for three months. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Panthers snuck into the NFC playoffs.
Vikings +1.5 on Packers
Minnesota reconfigured its attack and caught the change of tone in time. Mike Zimmer came out. Kevin O’Connell. The Packers defense is a solid unit, perhaps the best in the NFL. But the Green Bay reception room makes my eyes hurt. Aaron Rodgers He is a magician, but no one can do it without field help. Minnesota is an interesting bet on the additional odds of winning the NFC North.
Steelers +6.5 above the Bengals
Mike Tomlin has had no losing record in his 16 years in Pittsburgh, an impressive career. He’s the perfect modern coach, smart enough to appeal to a player’s wits, and emotionally connected enough to connect with his forces. Cincinnati still has an offense that will likely head towards the moon, but then Joe Borough Summer appendectomy, may be a slow start. The Steelers can definitely hang out. Die, Mitch Trubesky Downgrade may not be within the last days of Ben Roethlisberger.
Bronco -6.5 over Seahawks
My favorite on the road is rarely my jam, especially when the number is this big. but I expect Russell Wilson To win the separation from Seattle. Likes Tom Brady A few years ago, Wilson escapes in time, now backed by an extra supporting cast who can keep him at an elite level. Jeno Smith It wasn’t a disaster as a temporary start in Seattle last year, but it’s not an ideal solution for an entire season. The Seahawks still have a strong home advantage, but that’s only fine as long as the game remains competitive. I’m expecting an explosion.
